UX and UI design
User experience is at the heart of everything we build. We research how people use your product, design journeys that make sense to them and craft interfaces that are clear, accessible and pleasant to use.
What's included
User research
Interviews, analytics and observation to understand your users' needs, behaviour and pain points.
Wireframing and prototyping
Early layouts and clickable prototypes to test ideas quickly before anything is built.
Usability testing
Watching real people use the design to find what confuses them, then fixing it.
Information architecture
Organising content and navigation so people can find what they need in as few steps as possible.
Interface and interaction design
Polished screens, components and interactions that feel responsive and consistent.
Accessibility
Designing to WCAG standards so your product works for everyone, including people using screen readers or keyboards.
How we help
Good UX is invisible. People find what they need, complete what they came to do and leave with a good impression, without ever thinking about the design. Getting there takes research, testing and attention to detail.
Understand first
We start by learning who your users are and what they’re trying to achieve. That might mean interviewing customers, reviewing analytics, or watching how staff use an internal system. The findings shape every design decision that follows.
Test ideas cheaply
Wireframes and prototypes let us try different approaches in days rather than weeks. We put them in front of real users, learn what works and refine before development begins, when changes are still quick and inexpensive.
Design for complex products
Some of our most demanding UX work has been on software. For Poseidio we designed a single workspace where a sales pipeline and an accounting ledger live side by side, which meant making complex financial information clear at a glance. For Mavnio we designed approval workflows that busy public-sector teams can use from a browser or their inbox.
Accessible by default
We design to recognised accessibility standards, with good contrast, clear focus states, keyboard support and readable type. It’s the right thing to do, it widens your audience and it’s increasingly a legal expectation.
Questions
What's the difference between UX and UI design?
UX (user experience) is about how something works, including the journey, structure and ease of use. UI (user interface) is how it looks and feels on screen. We do both, and they work best together.
Do we really need user research?
Even a small amount of research saves money by catching problems before they're built. We scale the research to your budget and timeline.
Can you improve an existing website or app?
Yes. A UX review of an existing product is often the fastest way to lift conversions, reduce support requests and plan improvements.
